Honesty

The bias is that it is far better to promote integrity than it is to catch people who cheat. Therefore, on my web site you will find information on how to properly document your research, tips on avoiding plagiarism, handouts, worksheets, and so forth.

One of my favorite activities is the Plagiarism/Academic Integrity Quiz. It is fun because it is designed to provoke thought and, in part, teach through humor.

Academic Dishonesty

As part of the education process, it is necessary to address the issue of academic dishonesty because sometimes you just need to know what has to be avoided.

On-line Issues

Sometimes we forget that e-mail in an academic setting has different ethical standards than chatting with friends on-line.
