Establish Connection to College
A Technique for Promoting Academic Integrity

Student looking at School Daze booths.

We must consider the overall quality of our students’ experiences on campus—and not just in our classrooms—“if the likelihood of cheating is to be minimized. (Ashworth and Bannister, 1997) Activities that decrease anonymity and increase community serve as deterrents to cheating. (McKenzie, 1998)

Ideas for Getting Students Connected

School Daze is held each Fall semester and is a great way for Schoolcraft College students to learn more about clubs, organizations, and services available to them. School Daze takes place under a big tent located between the Liberal Arts Building and the Forum Building.

As a way to promote academic integrity, attending School Daze could be a valuable use of class time.

Elsewhere on this web site, I discuss participating in campus events such as School Daze.
