Hold Class Discussions

In their study “ESL Writers Discuss Plagiarism: The Social Construct of Ideologies,” Evans and Youmans (2000) conclude that student to student and student to instructor discussions must take place because “such discourse is likely to serve as a site for individuals to construct their ideologies concerning such crucial academic constructs as plagiarism.” Although their study focused on plagiarism, it is reasonable to assume that class discussions on ethical behavior would have a similar positive result.
